Why did you become an attorney?

I believe that attorneys have the best opportunity in society to make a difference in the lives of people on a daily basis. Abraham Lincoln has a quote to this effect.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

I came from a modest background. My father was a steelworker. I understand the daily problems of regular people having grown up I that environment. As an attorney, I have used that background to help people similarly situated with a wide variety of legal problems.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

I enjoy helping people at the most stressful moments in their lives. To be able to provide legal advice and representation which eases or lessens their stress is extremely rewarding.

What makes your law firm unique?

We are a small firm which allows great flexibility. My law partner, Charles Merchant and I met on the first day of law school and have been close friends ever since. We founded this firm with a shared vision of providing first rate legal representation at a reasonable price to individuals and a small businesses.

Describe your ideal client.

In my 25 year career, I have represented thousands of individuals with a variety of legal issues. No client is the same and each issue is different. I want clients who need help solving a problem and are willing to consider my advice in working toward affective solutions.

Describe your personal interest and hobbies.

My most enjoyable personal experiences involve spending time with my wife of 25 years and my daughter. I also enjoy playing golf, politics and working in the yard.

Describe your charitable activities.

I am very involved with my local church, St. Gabriel's in Whitehall. I have been on the School Advisory Board at St. Gabriel's since 2009. Additionally I serve as the church's legal advisor.
