Why did you become an attorney?

In addition to the satisfaction of helping people resolve difficult problems, I learn new things and meet new people with almost every new case.

What experiences (work and personal) help you to be a better attorney?

I worked two summers as a laborer in a steel mill and about six years during high school and college at various positions in the restaurant business. This required some double shifts, midnight shifts and working most evenings and holidays. I am not reluctant to take on cases that require hard work or long hours.

What made you choose your primary specialty focus of law?

Business Law and litigation; Construction Contracts and Claims; and Estate Planning and Administration all require the business and accounting skills I developed in college and employment prior to law school. Theses specialties are a natural fit for for my experience.

What makes your law firm unique?

Most of our litigation practice is based on referrals from other lawyers. Our lawyers are attentive to all of the clients needs because we do not rely on paralegals, associates or staff to communicate with the client or perform any non-routine work.

Describe your personal interest and hobbies.

I play golf, and enjoy kayaking, canoeing and hiking. Rather than traveling far, my family and I often take 3-4 day trips to the Laurel Mountains or Allegheny National Forest.

Describe your charitable activities.

I have been involved with various fundraising activities for the local YMCA, Easter Seals, Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra, high school band and my church.
